The Master's program

In the tiered study system, the Master's degree is an additional professional qualification.

It can be taken directly after a first university degree (usually a Bachelor's degree) or after a period of professional activity. It serves to provide further academic and professional qualifications and generally entitles students to a doctorate, i.e. to obtain a doctoral degree.

The standard period of study is a minimum of two and a maximum of six semesters.

The admission requirement is the completion of a related Bachelor's or Diplom study program. Additional special requirements, such as a particularly good final grade in the first professionally qualifying degree, may be specified by the universities. Other special enrollment requirements may be:
