About the project

The aim of the project is to establish strategic cooperation partners at partner universities in China and Latin America for three central bachelor programs of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences:

  • At our partner institutions, suitable Bachelor's programs corresponding to the Bachelor's programs of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts will be identified, set up or rebuilt (as a “twin”).
  • These programs will be integrated into one program system through an exchange and interaction concept, both through mobility and through virtual, digital formats.
  • Companies (preferably those that are at both locations) are intensively involved in the study programs in the sense of practice integration (FH model), e.g. through practical semesters, projects, workshops, lecturers and final theses.
  • If possible, the twin programs will have German accreditation and the possibility of a double degree for part of the cohort (with learning of the respective language or English).

The InduTwin project will initially focus on the topics of "Digitalization, Industry 4.0 and Logistics", which are particularly relevant in Dortmund and in the partner countries. For this purpose, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences builds on the largest dual Bachelor Program Software and Systems Engineering (Department of Computer Science), the Bachelor Program Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering (Department of Mechanical Engineering) and the Bachelor Program International Business (Department of Business Studies).

In consultation with the university and corporate partners, an extensive model project will internationalize Dortmund University's bachelor's education and promote the university's dual educational model in China and Latin America.
