DAAD VORsprung
The free, digital study preparation program VORsprung prepares international prospective students and prospective students in Germany with a refugee background for a STEM degree course in Germany regardless of location - including taking the TestAS and TestDaF as entrance exams.
On the one hand, the program includes subject-specific preparation for studying in Germany. Participants take two of the four subjects of the technology course (T-course) of a German Studienkolleg - the mathematics module plus another subject module (physics, chemistry or computer science). On the other hand, VORsprung includes language preparation for admission to a university course. The language entry level is B2 (CEFR). Participants complete modules from Deutsch-Uni Online (DUO) and are specifically prepared for the TestDaF. Prospective students with an entry level of B1 (CEFR) can also take part in VORsprung, but must complete an intensive German course beforehand.
The program is advertised twice a year for prospective students and lasts up to 37 weeks:
- 4 weeks of preliminary intensive German course (only for participants with language entry level B1.2)
- 2 weeks onboarding and start of the regular German course
- 26 weeks of subject and language preparation including 2 weeks of vacation
- 5 weeks TestDaF training
- TestAS & TestDaF depending on available dates
The program is funded by the DAAD with funds from the Federal Foreign Office (AA).

for students of the PSG College of Technology, India, as part of the IGCHE cooperation
The Indo-German Centre for Higher Education (IGCHE)(Opens in a new tab) is a cooperation initiative that enables Indian engineering students to complete part of their Bachelor's degree in Germany.
Structure of the "3+1 Program"
Students of the Indian partner institution PSG College of Technology are given the opportunity to complete their final year of study in Germany, including an internship and a practice-oriented Bachelor's thesis in German companies.
In the first three years of study, all students complete their studies in English and receive intensive German lessons in India as part of their curriculum from the first semester onwards. In the fourth year, after passing the TestDaF exam (minimum score of 16 points), students continue their studies in a German Bachelor's program at one of the IGCHE universities. In addition, students either complete a one-semester internship in a German company and write their final thesis in cooperation with the German company or write their project thesis at the same university. Upon completion of the program, each student receives a Bachelor's degree from the respective German university.
