What is it about?

Medicine without technology is no longer conceivable. Biomedical engineering has developed into an innovative key technology that combines engineering knowledge with medical, technical and biological expertise. The focus is on maintaining or restoring human health. Demographic change is increasingly highlighting the need for technical assistance systems. Among other things, such devices can help people to lead a self-determined life for longer or to maintain their ability to work. Biomedical technology provides a whole range of systems for private use through to clinical applications. For example, wearables record simple vital data or high-precision robots support the work of surgeons in the operating room.
