In October, lecturers from the University of Applied Sciences, together with a delegation from the city of Dortmund, visited partner institutions in the United Kingdom to generate new ideas for international research projects.

With its exceptionally artfully milled model of a mine car, a team from the Manufacturing Engineering department at the Fachhochschule Dortmund took second place at the “Mind Meets Metal Award” during the leading trade fair AMB 2026 in Stuttgart.

When children find their own way through the woods or work together to develop solutions in the workshop, they learn far more than just math or German. This is exactly where the “Rethinking Learning” project comes in.
