PROMOS - Program to increase the mobility of students at German universities

Enrolled students of all study programs at Fachhochschule Dortmund are eligible to apply.

PROMOS scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic qualifications and personal suitability. The relevance of the planned stay in relation to the previous studies must be proven as well as existing language skills that are necessary to carry out the stay.

PROMOS scholarships for stays abroad can be awarded at all stages of study (Bachelor's, Master's, doctorate).

Applicants in the first stage of their studies (Bachelor) should be at least in their third semester at the time of application. Applicants from Master's degree courses can apply from the first semester onwards.

The application deadline for stays in the:

• Summer semester is October 31
• Winter semester is April 30

There is no legal entitlement to the approval of funding. An internal committee decides on the allocation of funding. The decision is made in writing by the International Office. The reasons for the decision will not be disclosed.

All grants paid to you within one year (01.01. - 31.12.) must be reported to the Dortmund - West tax office by the Fachhochschule Dortmund budget department in the following year.

If you complete your studies in the relevant funding year and take up gainful employment, you must expect possible queries from the tax office as part of your income tax return.
