About the Next Career program
"Next Career" is a program funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science (MKW) for reorientation in case of doubts about studying and/or dropping out. It is the continuation of the NRW student dropout project (Next Career), which was funded between 2017 and 2020 with 13 regional projects from a total of 20 universities in NRW. The aim is to remove the taboos surrounding doubts about studying and dropping out from society as a whole and to expand the advisory services for students with doubts about studying, those changing courses and those dropping out - not least through the exchange of experiences between the participating universities. In addition, the aim is to meaningfully supplement and link existing services, e.g. from the Federal Employment Agency or the chambers and associations, which are intended to support transitions to alternative educational paths.
