Robotics club

The Faculties of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology are pooling their activities in the field of robotics: the aim of the "Robotics AG" is to strengthen this subject area at the university.

General

Signal processing and sensor technology, localization and navigation, control technology and design are just some of the topics that robotics researchers from the four faculties are working on - from different perspectives, but also with many points of contact. These points of contact are to be used to develop joint research projects in the future.

Since 2019, the robotics group has been developing a joint teaching program. For example, the group has been carrying out a joint block week project as part of the Ruhr Master's School since November 2019: "Search and Rescue" - Autonomous robots navigate and map(Prof. Becker, Prof. Röhrig ) in unknown terrain, recognize and classify objects using a camera(Prof. Thiem ) and collect objects to be rescued using a gripper arm(Prof. Liu , Prof. Straßmann ).
