OTUWI

The Online Tutorial for Scientific Work (OTUWI) is intended to give students the opportunity to learn scientific and empirical work as an elementary basic skill in self-study via the web-based learning management system (ILIAS) already established at Fachhochschule Dortmund. The aim of the digital learning format is to increase the intensity of students' engagement with core areas of academic work. OTUWI is intended to offer students the opportunity to check their skills in areas of academic work through digital test units in the sense of self-evaluation. Students should be given the opportunity to acquire different knowledge content online via individual learning modules in preparation for the attendance periods of the course. With this learning format, students should learn in the following areas: science and scientific research methods (e.g. qualitative & quantitative research approaches), conception of scientific work (e.g. literature research), writing process and text design (e.g. outline & citation).
