Anna Bennemann is studying the fundamentals of our existence: For example, what’s the best way to transmit electricity from offshore wind farms in the North Sea across the country? How can power grids, electricity trading, and energy data work together most effectively? In short: How do we secure the energy supply of the future?
"Everything is being electrified"
“The field is constantly evolving,” explains Anna Bennemann in the FH podcast reinSTUDIERT. “Everything that can be electrified is being electrified, because that’s usually the most efficient approach.” This constantly gives rise to new challenges: cost-benefit analyses and massive amounts of data that need to be understood and evaluated.
"So many possibilities"
“That’s what’s so cool about this study program,” she says. “I have so many opportunities and prospects. We study Business Studies, we explore the digital transformation of the energy sector, we gain technical knowledge, and we have so many ways to specialize.”
And the teaching at the Fachhochschule Dortmund is very hands-on—even in the bachelor’s exams, for example: “You can really see what it’s all about and how it works. It’s awesome.”
