About the faculty

Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest applied sciences and at the same time a permanent driver of technical progress. From the designers of the tools used to build the Egyptian pyramids to Leonardo da Vinci and the modern engineering profession, it is a tradition that focuses on constant innovation.

In mechanical engineering, systems and equipment are designed and operated for a wide range of applications, from buildings and vehicles to power plants and production facilities. In addition to a solid basic education, the diverse areas of application increasingly require well-founded specialist knowledge in order to guarantee an up-to-date and comprehensive level of knowledge.
