Electrical and electronics team

Team description

The Electrics & Electronics team consists of a total of 10 students from the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Product Development and Simulation and Automotive Engineering. As the design of the electronic components became increasingly complex in the course of the Nuevo 35 project, the Electrics & Electronics team was newly founded in winter semester 2020. The team is supervised by Prof. Dr. Thoben, Mr. Fried and Mr. Walter.

What has been achieved so far?

Within the automation of the e-test bench control system, the control options have already been investigated and the initial concepts for the software structure have been created. These form the basis for the step-by-step control of the first individual components of the test bench.
A measurement point plan was created to record measurement data from the test bench and vehicle and to determine the interfaces required in the program. Furthermore, the commissioning of the measurement data acquisition device as well as the readout and input of the sensors installed in the cooling circuit of the test bench was achieved.
Furthermore, the necessary components for the operation of an electric machine on the test bench have been designed and procured. In addition, different transmission variants for the dual drive were presented and evaluated.
As part of the central control of the Nuevo35, it was also achieved that the MAB3 successfully communicates and switches via CAN, a test circuit was set up using analog and digital inputs and outputs. The dbc file has been given its basic structure in a suitable protocol.
