TalentScouting works with two building blocks: The core of the program consists of individual consultations at currently 21 cooperating schools. The consultations are supplemented by workshops and taster days on the topics of "university" and "talent development".

Long-term advice

Are you a senior at one of our 21 partner schools in Dortmund and the surrounding area?  Our TalentScouts offer on-site consultation hours once or twice a month. We rely on the cooperation of study and career choice coordinators, subject teachers and school social workers, who are able to assess their students well and draw their attention to TalentScouting. The counseling sessions themselves are voluntary and confidential - they take place in private and nothing is revealed to the outside world.

TalentScouting is designed for the long term: We offer to accompany our talented students from secondary school onwards, right through to university or vocational training. The transition from one system to another is a particularly uncertain time for many of our talents. The TalentScouts can be important contacts. In addition to office hours at the schools, we can also be reached at the university or via WhatsApp. This enables our talents to stay in touch with us even after they leave school - no matter where their next steps take them.

We support particularly performance-oriented and socially committed talents in their applications for school and university scholarships.

Lecture at the social work taster day

Open doors. Try things out. Discover dreams and goals.

Fancy an adventure? We invite you on a trip to the university! During a campus tour, you will immerse yourself in campus life and gain lively insights into the Faculties of Architecture, Applied Social Studies and Computer Science. Your guides are the StudyScouts from "Hochschule vor Ort", who are students themselves. In a relaxed workshop atmosphere, they will also tell you about their everyday student life and answer your individual questions. You will also get to know the most important features of the university system and use online tools to research suitable study programs for you.

The taster days give you practical insights into different study programs. You can try out your creativity together with design students by designing logos and flyers. If you are a technology enthusiast, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering awaits you: attend a lecture on combustion engines, gain exclusive practical insights into the engine laboratory and visit the premises of the racing team, where students are working on a racing car. On all taster days, students take the time to give you an insight into their studies and answer your questions.
