Business informatics deals with questions such as

Research, apply and specialize
The three- or four-semester Master's study program in Information Systems offers specializations in the following areas: Business Informatics, Computer Science, Operational Management, IT Procurement and Controlling, Information Management and Business Intelligence as well as SCM Applications. You can also specialize in other areas. The difference between the three- and four-semester variants lies in the admission requirements and the number of credit points to be earned.
In the first year of study, you will expand your specialist and methodological skills through the modules Business Informatics, Computer Science and Business Management.
In the second year of the four-semester Master's program, you will work on a challenging research and development project. You will complete your studies with a Master's thesis that is both research and application-oriented. You can complete both the Master's project and the Master's thesis within
within the university in a specialization area of your choice. However, we also support you in writing your thesis in cooperation with companies in Germany and abroad.

If you would like to apply to study Business Information Systems (Master of Science) at Fachhochschule Dortmund, you must meet the necessary admission requirements:
Completion of a study program in business informatics or a study program related to business informatics as a Bachelor or Diplominformatiker*in at a university of applied sciences or university or the completion of a corresponding accredited Bachelor training program at a vocational academy, in each case with an overall grade of at least "good" (2.5).
The relevance of the study program is decided by a committee appointed by the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Computer Science, which consists of two professors and one member of staff.
For admission to the three-semester Master's degree program in Business Information Systems, the study programs must comprise at least 210 credit points in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) or be assessed accordingly. For admission to the four-semester study program, 180 credit points are required.
