In the run-up to the development of the dance production "West-Land-Tänze" by the Düsseldorf Theater der Klaenge, Prof. J.U. Lensing and choreographer Jacqueline Fischer researched the subject of folk dance and music in the Rhineland and Westphalia. This research also included two workshops to which dance teachers specializing in folk dance and bal folk were invited. For the first workshop, Film&Sound students from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences were also guests in the rehearsal studio of the Düsseldorf Theater der Klaenge for two days with cameras and microphones. Sound design student Till Bellinghausen edited the short film "Palimpsest" from this material in the fall of 2023. Under the same title, the Theater der Klänge published an e-book on the premiere of the music and dance play "West-Land-Tänze", which summarizes the scientific results on the subject of "Folk dance and music in the Rhineland and Westphalia".
