Participatory architecture - What makes the university of applied sciences of the future?

Fast facts

About the project

In the summer semester of 2021, students on the Master's degree course Resource Architecture explored participatory processes in architecture. In their search for ideas for a university of applied sciences of the future, they prepared, moderated and documented a virtual simulation game under the guidance of lecturers Friederike Asche M.A. and Stephan Gudewer M.Sc. The simulation game was carried out as part of the university location development plan. The participating professors, academic and administrative staff as well as the Master's students worked together and at eye level to develop initial visions of the future as an idea opener and the start of a planning process to develop a spatial concept.

TansurbanResidency -
Master's students take part in transformation processes

In the interdisciplinary teaching project ARDEAS, students from the Master's degree program in Resource Architecture took part in this year's artist residency Transurban Residency (@trans_urban) in Dortmund. Together with Master's students of scenography and the Social Sustainability and Demographic Change study program, they analyzed spatial, ecological and social transformation processes. The result was a multi-layered exhibition that deals with different levels of the intervention space of the Transurban Residency.
