About the project

Campus management project

Fachhochschule Dortmund has been demonstrating its own growing and increasingly complex university landscape for many years. A wide variety of topics and requirements are emerging in the most diverse areas of organization, work processes and technology.

We focus on students

One of the most important and growing processes at our university is the organization of studies around the student life cycle. The central guiding principle "we focus on students" plays a fundamental role. Today's students place a wide range of demands on their university of the future in order to cope with everyday student life. Whether it is enrolment and application, examination and course planning or other areas within the student life cycle. Fast and efficient use and processing of individual areas is expected. Both the technology and, of course, the staff and lecturers at Fachhochschule Dortmund should be able to achieve this within the Student Life Cycle. The increasing demands on the student life cycle on the part of all groups involved are constantly growing.

Fachhochschule Dortmund already provides a large number of technical tools and IT infrastructures to manage the organization of studies. However, this provision also requires constant modernization and a new strategic orientation.

In this context, Fachhochschule Dortmund has set itself the goal of illuminating and optimizing the university's own IT landscape and services. As part of the IT Strategy 2020, a wide range of goals were developed and defined for the university of the future. The central guiding principle of our university of applied sciences, "we focus on students", is also reflected here. Derived from this, a central goal was agreed: the harmonization and modernization of our IT system landscape to create an attractive, modern and efficient teaching and learning environment at our university. This naturally also includes the area of study organization relating to student life (student life cycle) at our university.

To achieve this goal, the Fachhochschule Dortmund campus management project was launched in 2015.

As part of the project, the planning and implementation of the introduction of the integrated campus management system HISinOne for the complete mapping of the student life cycle is to be undertaken. This is to take place within the next three to five years.

You will be able to see exactly what this means and which paths we will take here in the near future. We will keep you informed about current developments and project statuses and try to give you a better understanding of the project.
