BiK research project

Fast facts

About the project

The research project is a joint project of the Universities of Cologne and Fachhochschule Dortmund, the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences with study programs on early childhood and focuses on the importance of movement as a child-related educational factor. It explores the question of whether the current internationally and interdisciplinarily highly valued importance of the factor of movement for inclusive early childhood education and development processes is adequately reflected in the current professionalization processes of early childhood education specialists in the specialist academy and university sector. To this end, a differentiated analysis of the current situation is to be carried out and a new concept for the subject-specific training and further education sector is to be developed as a result. Conceptual preliminary work will differentiate the meanings and meanings of movement and physicality from the perspective of various specialist discourses and analyze the educational and orientation plans of the federal states, the study regulations of the BA/MA study programs on early childhood and selected curricula of specialist schools. The aim of the research project is a competent re-profiling of the qualification framework on the subject area of "movement".

The project is linked to the realization of Bachelor's, Master's and dissertation theses, in particular on the main research and application areas: Inclusion, age group 0-3, transitions family - crèche/daycare - daycare - elementary school as well as biographical research of early education professionals in relation to their own biography and subjective theories about movement.
