Hunecke BMBF GenoMobil

Cooperatives as a form of organization for a socio-ecological transformation of integrated mobility (GenoMobil)

Fast facts

About the project

The GeNoMobil project is researching how Mobility as a Service can be organized as a cooperative. The Ruhr University Bochum and the new Bochum technology campus Mark 51°7 serve as a real-life laboratory. As a cooperative can offer integrated mobility services independently of other market providers, it ensures individual mobility and avoids the ecological problems of excessive use of private cars.

The cooperative organization is being examined in the project from an integrative economic, transport science and psychological perspective. Prof. Dr. Marcel Hunecke and project staff at Fachhochschule Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts are initiating processes of social activation in the real-world laboratory and researching psychological factors influencing collaborative action.
