What happened?
The campus license for Citavi (Citavi Desktop & Web Bundle) expires on August 31, 2026 and will not be extended. Until then, you can work normally with the current license.
The reasons for this are sharp price increases in recent years, one-sided further development of the product and the declining quality of support since a change of ownership. Relatively low user numbers also play a role.
What now?
Fachhochschule Dortmund recommends switching to the open source solution Zotero.
You can also switch to alternative reference management programs such as EndNote or Citavi (via a separate license). The FH library will support you in switching to Zotero. Information, instructions, advice and contacts can be found on this website.
