In addition, more complex dynamic profitability calculations are created using Excel.

In the practical courses in the fourth and fifth semesters, students deepen their application and software skills using further case studies. For example, the optimization of system control and the creation of load forecasts are considered. The optimization and load forecasting applications from Kisters are used for this purpose. Load profile analyses are carried out with MatLab, among others. Structuring of projects and scheduling of projects against an introduction to project management tools.

In the Master's course Decentralized Energy Systems, Business Studies/technical studies on decentralized energy supply using the example of modern district concepts are carried out together with the Laboratory for Renewable Energies. carried out. Here too, standard software, TOP Energy from GFAI, is used for the practical part.

The topics mentioned above and others from the Business Studies context of energy use and energy supply can be explored in greater depth as part of student projects and theses at both Bachelor's and Master's level.
