We teach with enthusiasm and at a high level of quality - we are happy to pass on our knowledge to the next generation. We enjoy teaching and learning from each other and regularly undergo further training.
Freedom of teaching and research - hardly any other profession offers so much freedom in terms of content. Benefit from the fact that you can organize your working hours flexibly. You can plan the 18 semester hours per week of teaching as you wish.
In addition to teaching, you will also be responsible for taking examinations and supervising final theses. We encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and look forward to your participation in our exciting committees.
Bring transfer into your courses through guest lectures, excursions to external partners or supporting projects with Business Studies.
Research
As the largest university of applied sciences in the Ruhr region, we provide important impetus for the region with our research and many transfer projects. We see research as implementation-oriented development work with a clear application perspective and transdisciplinary cooperation between stakeholders from the economy and society.
You choose the focus of your research - we provide you with full support!
At Fachhochschule Dortmund, we have all the necessary structures in place so that you can devote yourself to your research interests in the long term. A research professorship or a reduction in your teaching load for research activities is also possible with us.
Your path to a professorship - profession meets vocation
In addition to teaching content, skills and abilities, you will identify students' skills and strengthen them in the long term.

We work with an online application management system. We therefore ask you to submit your application online if possible.
We would like to point out that an appointment procedure can take up to 1.5 years.
This is what a classic appointment procedure looks like:

- Your application
