Climate protection management

Climate protection concept for a holistic sustainability strategy

Fachhochschule Dortmund wants to achieve climate neutrality by 2030 and thus meet the targets set jointly with the NRW state administration. The participation and integration of all university members and university departments are particularly important to us in the process.

With the help of an integrated climate protection concept, a holistic long-term sustainability strategy is to be developed in the coming years, which takes into account the ecological impact on three levels:

  1. The ecological impact of the university's operations, divided into Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions.
  2. The integration of sustainability into teaching in order to empower students in the area of sustainable development and to create an awareness of social, ecological and economic interrelationships at the university.
  3. The influence on the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and resource consumption through research projects, networks and the role model function (transfer) for regional and supra-regional actors from civil society, administration and Business Studies.
