DART is the abbreviation for Dortmund Applied Research & Transfer.
Who is the DART Symposium aimed at?
All doctoral candidates and those interested in pursuing a doctorate are cordially invited to the symposium - regardless of their university or discipline.
Stakeholders from academia and Business Studies who are committed to strengthening applied research are equally welcome. As well as all those who are interested in establishing quality standards and improving the framework conditions for (cooperative) doctorates.
Who is organizing the symposium?
The symposium is regularly planned and held by doctoral students at Fachhochschule Dortmund for doctoral students. From the conception to the selection of speakers, the actual event planning and the moderation on the day of the event, the project team of doctoral students organizes the format.

Where will the 2026 symposium take place?
The DART Symposium (Dortmund Applied Research and Transfer) 2026 will take place at the Fachhochschule Dortmund, Sonnenstraße 96, 44139 Dortmund in room A101.

What is the conference language?
The conference languages are German and English.
Posters and presentations on doctoral projects can be submitted and held in German and English.
Is there a certificate for participation?
All registered participants can receive a certificate for their participation upon request.
Those who present a poster or actively participate in the program with a lecture can also receive a certificate stating their contribution upon request.
How can doctoral candidates actively participate?
Doctoral candidates from all colleges/universities and all disciplines can participate with posters, presentations on their own doctoral project and/or a contribution to the Science Slam. (For application details, see Call for Abstracts.)
Are there any costs for participation?
Participation in the symposium is free of charge. This also applies to catering and participation in the supporting program.
To ensure that this remains the case in subsequent years, it is important that you cancel your participation in good time if you are unable to attend.
Submitted posters will be printed by the University of Applied Sciences.
There are therefore no costs or only costs for your own travel.
Can travel expenses be covered?
