Marie-Sophie studied architecture at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Versailles and at the Politecnico di Milano. After working in various offices in France and Germany with a focus on urban planning and architecture, she joined the family architecture firm schultearchitekten gmbh in 2017. Her work is characterized by a contemporary and respectful view of urban development, the use of resources and the interactions between the built, human and natural environment. At the interface of her various European experiences, Marie-Sophie Schulte is particularly interested in social change and its impact on the way we live and work.
Between experience and innovation
schultearchitekten gmbh was founded in 2000 by Wilhelm Schulte Dipl.-Ing. Architekt BDA in Cologne. Marie-Sophie Schulte, studied at ENSA Versailles in 2010, joined the office in Cologne in 2017. Helena Schulte, graduated from ENSA Paris-Belleville in 2018, joined the agency in 2020. schultearchitekten gmbh is based in Cologne and Paris and works on multidisciplinary topics with a focus on the housing issue and the housing of tomorrow.
For more than 20 years, schultearchitekten gmbh has been designing residential buildings and social real estate such as care facilities, retirement homes, day care centers as well as administrative, office and transportation buildings. Further focal points are urban planning and neighborhood development as well as monument protection and sacred buildings. At the Cologne location and in the Paris branch, 20 employees of different nationalities and age groups work on sustainable architecture. The expertise and creativity resulting from these cultural backgrounds and views flow into every project. Many years of experience, planning and design strength, fresh ideas and empathy lead to tailor-made solutions. schultearchitekten gmbh designs concise and aesthetic architecture in a clear design language for various clients - private investors, real estate developers or the public sector. This includes assigning new functions to existing structures and intelligently redensifying neighborhoods. The focus is on concepts that promote social interaction, offer more flexibility and leave a lasting architectural mark on urban spaces.
Between Cologne and Paris
Born in Germany, educated in Paris, Milan, Madrid and Cologne - the two sisters Helena and Marie-Sophie have developed a diverse social, urban and architectural awareness over several years. They have acquired the tools for urban planning and architecture in Parisian offices such as ANMA, Antonini Darmon Architectes, Atelier Zündel Cristea, Chaix et Morel, Dusapin, Ateliers 234, Reichen et Robert, SAA architectes. The quality of the projects and the careful integration into the context are always at the forefront. They take a contemporary and respectful view of urban development, the use of resources and the interactions between the built, human and natural environment.
