Information
This year, we want to shed light on university didactics in the area of conflict between social challenges such as educational equality, diversity and sustainability on the one hand and technical leaps in development such as AI applications on the other.
Not only the venue is new - for the first time, the 4th Day of Teaching will take place in the DASA Arbeitswelt exhibition in Dortmund - with Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel as Rector and Prof. Dr. Stephan Weyers as Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies, this is also the first time under new university management. There is also a special highlight this year and a reason to celebrate:
Dr. Peter Salden (Ruhr University Bochum), who, as head of the Center for Science Didactics at RUB, has many years of experience in university development, among other things, will deliver the keynote speech. His work focuses on the topic of artificial intelligence in higher education. As co-founder of the "Virtual Competence Center Writing Teaching and Learning with Artificial Intelligence" and head of the project "KI:edu.nrw. Didactics, Ethics and Technology of Learning Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education" project, he is an expert in learning analytics and AI-based writing tools and will also address the opportunities and risks of AI in terms of educational equity and diversity in his keynote speech.
Three themed sessions will address current challenges and opportunities in higher education at Fachhochschule Dortmund and beyond. Innovative digital learning spaces at Fachhochschule Dortmund will be presented and the topics of educational equity and diversity will also be discussed with regard to digital accessibility in teaching and studies. Sustainability as a pressing problem of our time and as a topic of practical teaching projects will also be the subject of a session.
After a varied program of lectures, discussions, activity stands and poster exhibitions, there will be the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of DASA and end the day with music and a relaxed atmosphere as part of the International Office's anniversary celebrations(Opens in a new tab) .
