Semester fee

The semester contribution (social contribution) must be paid by each student per semester in order to be able to start or continue their studies at Fachhochschule Dortmund.

Composition of the semester fee

The semester fee is made up of the contribution to the Studierendenwerk Dortmund (social contribution), which is used to finance student service facilities such as canteens and halls of residence. The basis for the collection is the Studierendenwerk's contribution regulations.

The General Students' Committee (AStA) receives a share, which is used to finance, among other things, counseling and support services for students.

The semester fee also includes the cost of the Deutschland-Semesterticket, which allows enrolled students to use local public transport (2nd class) for the duration of the semester.

Current semester fee

The semester fee for the summer semester 2024 is € 299.40.

Enrolment and re-registration are only possible after payment of the fees.

Students who are on leave of absence due to illness, pregnancy, studying abroad or performing voluntary military service or federal voluntary service do not pay a semester fee. In the case of a leave of absence for other reasons, the contribution for the Studierendenwerk Dortmund must be paid.
