Research, third-party funding, taxes

The Research, External Funding, Taxes department sees itself as a service provider for all researchers at Fachhochschule Dortmund. One of its tasks is to support project managers with project-related third-party funding administration. The following tasks are undertaken: Advising and preparing applications, project controlling, preparing financial plans, calculations and statistics, requesting and monitoring third-party funds, processing reallocations of funds, preparing partial and utilization reports, submitting offers and invoices primarily for commercial projects, communicating with ministries and project sponsors.

The Graduate Center of the Fachhochschule Dortmund is also part of the department. The college currently supervises around 150 doctoral candidates.

The department works closely with colleagues from the Transfer Office. Together they act internally and externally as TraFo.

Finance and purchasing

The Finance and Purchasing department manages the budget of Fachhochschule Dortmund.

In addition to providing and reviewing budgets, its tasks also include expenditure planning. The Purchasing department advises the departments on questions relating to their procurement projects. It carries out negotiated awards as well as national and EU-wide tendering procedures, places orders and concludes university-wide contracts on the basis of the applicable procurement law. Financial flows are recorded and the university's liquid assets are managed. The annual financial statements, including the balance sheet and profit and loss account, are prepared.

The Finance and Purchasing department is therefore the point of contact for all questions relating to budgeting, procurement and accounting.
