COFFEE TABLE AND LANDSCAPE
A performative installation
Solo exhibition as part of Schöneberger Art.
November 4 and 5, 2023, Berlin.

The tipping point is an unknown threshold; it cannot be defined. Once it is crossed, even a tiny change can set in motion a process that is irreversible. Nora Fuchs applies this concept—known from climate research—to her artistic practice.
In her family, coffee and cake were often considered a main meal. It was during these gatherings that the day’s important events were discussed. This gave rise to the idea of offering visitors a baked landscape. Anyone who wanted to talk about their ideal vision of a landscape was warmly invited to help themselves at the coffee table. As a result, the shape of the pre-baked, two-meter-long cake table began to change. Interventions in the landscape were initially made hesitantly and cautiously. The “fields” were gradually transformed into organically shaped sections of varying forms. This was followed by a construction phase in which one group developed architectural forms, while another followed the principles of nature. Accompanied by two musical
