An event organized by the Alte Schule Baruth Art and Culture Association.
Saturday, August 29, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m. – Market Square, 15837 Baruth
From the invitation:
"This year, the Alte Schule Baruth Art and Culture Association cordially invites you to a day of activities on August 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Market Square in Baruth. This event serves as a starting point for reflecting on the relationship between private and public life. For this event, we ask that you bring an item from your home. It can be anything from a piece of furniture to a decorative object. We plan to work together to create a living space on the square. By participating, you’ll be making an important contribution to our project. A program featuring guests from the worlds of art and culture will accompany the event."
The Alte Schule Baruth e. V. Art and Culture Association has been nominated for the 2026 ADKV-ART COLOGNE Prize for Art Associations. Over the past four years, the ASB Art and Culture Association has addressed important issues facing the town of Baruth through its exhibition trilogy “Water, Wood, Sand.”
The enduring interest in this long-standing, nationwide award—which strengthens the work of the 308 associations organized within the Working Group of German Art Associations (ADKV) and serves as a symbol of dedicated, democratic civic engagement—underscores its ongoing relevance within the German art landscape.
The PRIVAT PUBLIK project is funded by the Baruth/Mark City Foundation
and the Teltow-Fläming Foundation for Education, Youth, Culture, and Sports of the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse in Potsdam.
