About the project

Design of a sculptural luminaire with generatively manufactured elements

During the 2019|2020 winter semester, students were tasked with designing and producing a sculptural luminaire in teams of two. The students were able to use a material they were familiar with, such as wood, concrete or metal. However, generatively manufactured elements also had to be part of the sculpture. It did not matter whether they were used as a simple connecting element or as the main component.

A light source (LED), a socket (E27 or E14) and the corresponding cabling had to be taken into account in the design and planned accordingly.
