The system is intended to make it easier for the grid operator to control the grid status by enabling the energy customers' generation and load quotas to be switched on and off at appropriate time intervals. The system is intended to save conventional control energy and thus reduce CO2 emissions. It is intended to make the best possible use of renewable energy that is not permanently available through suitable consumer control.
By coordinating with components for home automation and integrating existing devices, the system is intended to contribute to the transition to intelligent energy networks in smart grids. On the basis of an energy information system, a system model is to be designed that provides the energy consumer/producer (energy customer), e.g. private households and SMEs, with an estimate of the required demand or the possible feed-in of electrical energy for an upcoming time interval depending on the user's specifications.
This forecast in the form of quotas is passed on to the management system of the smart grid, which then carries out a capacity utilization calculation and releases these consumption or feed-in quotas at a suitable time via switching orders to the energy information system. The energy information system then switches on the relevant appliances according to the grid load and demand.
