Joint learning between students and prisoners
The project aims to pursue the approach of joint learning between students and prisoners: Social work students at Fachhochschule Dortmund and people who have been sentenced to imprisonment will learn and discuss together.
The seminar will cover social science and socio-educational topics in the field of offender support and will be held in digital or hybrid form. In addition to accessing learning materials and holding the digital seminar sessions, an online platform will also be used for communication between fellow students, for example for group work.
The participants will benefit from the seminar in various ways: The participating prisoners will have additional outside contact as well as the opportunity to reflect on their time in prison and the services offered by the criminal justice system together with students from the UAS. Social work students will be given a practical orientation in their studies. Education should be experienced in social interaction and actively shaped by allowing students to choose and design their own learning content.
