About the person
Sina Nitzsche heads the Innovative Teaching department at the Institute for Higher Education Didactics(Opens in a new tab) . As spokesperson for the network of universities of applied sciences, the cultural and media scientist coordinates the local launch of the online state portal ORCA.nrw. Her work focuses on media didactics, open educational resources (OER), diversity and digitalization in teaching.
ORCA.nrw & OER
ORCA.nrw offers teachers and students at Fachhochschule Dortmund a wide range of opportunities for exchange, collaboration and networking:
- Teachers can use freely available teaching and learning materials (Open Educational Resources, OER for short) from other NRW universities for their courses. They can also upload OER they have produced themselves to ORCA.nrw under Creative Commons licenses.
- Students benefit from a wide range of OER materials, self-study courses, advice options and can network with students from other NRW universities.

- Organization and implementation of workshops and seminars on the topic of OER
- Advice on DH.NRW funding lines, e.g. Curriculum 4.0, digiFellows, OERContent.nrw
- Advice on offers and services of the state portal
- Support with the curricular integration of offers on ORCA.nrw
- Support in the production of OER for the state portal
- Forwarding suggestions and feedback to ORCA.nrw
