Mural on Weisbachstrasse: The earth has no emergency exit

In just one day, artists David Kory and Paul Manzey and the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) team created a mural on the facade of the UAS on the corner of Weisbachstrasse and Sonnenstrasse. It symbolizes concrete thoughts on sustainability.

The idea came from the Fachhochschule Dortmund's social responsibility focus group: a mural should signal the motivation of students and staff at Fachhochschule Dortmund for environmental protection and sustainability.

A side effect: the previously undesigned wall surface becomes an eye-catcher and possibly protects it from wild sprayers, as painted walls are much less likely to be sprayed illegally.

At the end of September, two students and two employees responded to the CSR Office's call to work with professional muralist David Kory (Die Urbanisten), artist Paul Manzey a.k.a. Pepe Peps and two CSR employees to collect the basic ideas for the painting and develop the motif.

On Monday, November 7, 2022, David Kory and Paul Manzey executed the painting with Melissa Schaub and Sebastian Kreimer from the CSR team.

What does the mural mean?
