Fachhochschule Dortmund's Open Day 2023 was just as inviting as the weather.

Fachhochschule Dortmund presents itself as an innovative, practice-oriented and welcoming university at its open days. More than 200 offers informed and entertained visitors at the three study locations last time in June 2023.

Save the date: The next Open(Opens in a new tab)  Day is Saturday, June 8, 2024!

Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel, Deputy Rector of Fachhochschule Dortmund.

Many more people were invited than before: "With this Open Day," said Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel, "we not only want to get prospective students excited about the UAS, but also all curious people, neighbors, friends and the city society. With exciting lectures on topics such as AI, with activities by the Race-Ing. team, the SQuArE, the Sustainability Office and the colorful program on and around the stages, we absolutely succeeded."

The visitors' interest in the content was palpable.

While the students gained an insight into the artistic possibilities of material processing at the Faculty of Design during the Wasserschneider demo, parents relaxed with an alcohol-free AStA cocktail next to the race track, which their children swept along on bobby cars.

While some were taking part in the UAS or climate quiz, others were shown workshops, explained robots, demonstrated signal transmissions, had application folders explained, were impressed by VR and AR technology, described the hurdles of the citizen's allowance, were enchanted by the music acts Lea Bergen and Binyo, measured the vitamin D content of their blood or were shown study and career prospects by professors.

The Open Day was prepared intensively by many employees and students in the faculties and departments. The result of this work was remarkable, says Prof. Appel: "I saw a full house at our eight faculties, and that makes me particularly happy. After all, they are the ones who will train the specialists of tomorrow."
