As part of a large, multi-year project involving several partners, robots are being developed that can be equipped for every conceivable emergency response scenario. To ensure that the individual modules and components work together seamlessly, the robots need a kind of nervous system that controls and connects everything—much like a brain.

This “brain” is being developed at the Institute for the Digital Transformation of Application and Living Domains (IDiAL) at Fachhochschule Dortmund. Jonas Brandenbusch, a master’s student in computer science, is part of the team. In the reinSTUDIERT podcast , he talks about his work and his life as a student at the university and in Dortmund.
