Fachhochschule Dortmund serves "expertise for lunch"

Published

The online lecture series "Fachwissen zum Mittag" is entering its fourth round. The library and the Graduate Center of Fachhochschule Dortmund are serving up a total of eight lectures on a wide range of topics relating to academic publishing.

Dr. Sina Nitzsche opens the lecture series with the topic "Open Educational Resources".

The event always starts at 12 noon via internet browser. The lectures last 30 to 45 minutes and are aimed at all (early career) researchers and other interested parties. This year, for the first time, the selection of topics is the result of a survey among doctoral students regarding their wishes for the series. There is now a mixture of classic topics that are repeated annually and new lectures that have never been covered in the series or were last covered two years ago.

The speakers are experts from various institutions and faculties at the UAS, as well as external speakers and discussion partners who share their valuable experience.

Dr. Sina Nitzsche from the Institute for Higher Education Didactics at the University of Applied Sciences kicked things off on 21 February 2024 with a presentation on freely accessible teaching and learning materials, or "Open Educational Resources" (OER). Other topics include copyright law, literature management software and dealing with artificial intelligence (AI).

You can find more information about the series and the lectures as well as the opportunity to register on the FH Library website.
