Jury meeting for the German Steel Construction Award 2022

On May 20, 2022, the jury of the German Steel Construction Award selected from 37 submissions at the Technical University in Cologne. The winners have now been announced.


bauforumstahl organizes the student competition every two years for the next generation of architects, construction operators and civil engineers. Individuals, working groups and interdisciplinary working groups can apply. The prize money amounts to a total of 8,000 EURO. The prize money is shared by the 1st - 3rd prizes.

The jury has now made its decision. Chaired by Professor Arne Künstler, IAKT, the jury consisted of: Professor Helmut Hachul, Architecture + Metal Construction Fachhochschule Dortmund, Professor Bernd Naujoks, Department of Steel Construction and Composite Structures Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Thorsten Pollok, Branch Manager stahl + verbundbau gmbh Düsseldorf, Professor Jürgen Reichardt, Baukonstruktion Münster School of Architecture, Boris Schade-Bünsow, Editor-in-Chief Bauwelt Berlin, and architect Georg Schmidthals, Partner GRAFT Berlin.

The award ceremony will take place on September 29, 2022 as part of the 40th German Steel Construction Day in Berlin.
