On March 19, 2026, around 50 pupils took the opportunity to gain an insight into the world of IT at the "DoIT! - Day of IT" to gain an insight into the world of IT. After a brief welcome in the morning, things got underway straight away: the participants were able to get hands-on in various workshops and try out what computer science actually means.
The main focus was on practical experience. Instead of just listening, the students worked independently on various topics. There was a wide range of topics on offer - from the "Internet of Things", developing their own smartphone apps and building a smart lamp to evaluating heart signals, IT-supported production and taking the first steps towards artificial intelligence with neural networks.
There was also plenty of opportunity for personal exchange. Initial experiences in the field of IT were exchanged over lunch. In the afternoon, the workshops continued before the day came to an end at around 3:30 pm.
For many participants, the DoIT! was not only informative, but also a good opportunity to get a more concrete picture of a possible computer science degree.
Special thanks go to all the organizers and workshop leaders who put so much effort into making the day possible.
