Care: More time for people

Published

IDiAL focused on the right assistance systems for individual applications.

The Institute for the Digital Transformation of Application and Living Domains (IDiAL) held a workshop to get to the bottom of the question of which processes in nursing and nursing training can be digitized in order to have more time for the people in need of care.

Many things in nursing and nursing training could be digitized. However, in view of demographic change and staff shortages, there is a lack of resources for the necessary planning and conversion.

With the project "Social participation in health and care through digital assistance systems" (DI-PASst), IDiAL wants to help companies to get the changeover underway. Employees from project partner mpool consulting and the South Westphalian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Hagen (SIHK) came to IDiAL on May 15 to jointly identify potential and develop implementation strategies.

Checking assistance systems

The participants initially focused on the biggest challenges facing companies: a wide range of topics were covered, from the creation and implementation of practical instructions to documentation and expanding the participation and experiences of those in need of assistance.

One highlight of the workshop was a "Gallery Walk" on various assistance systems that participants were able to try out: Form generators for digitizing and systematically recording information, AI-based translation tools to help with language barriers, games to strengthen cognitive skills and social contacts, mobile video call systems for greater participation and several more.

Individual implementation strategies

This exciting and communicative day ended with the selection of suitable assistance systems for specific companies and the development of an individual implementation strategy for a test run of the selected system.

The participating companies will receive further support over the next few months during the implementation of the test operation. Other interested companies can register here .

Funding is provided by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the European Union as part of the "Change in Work - Shaping Social Partnership" program and runs from June 2023 to the end of May 2026.
