On Friday, October 9, 2026, the Faculty of Architecture held a ceremony to honor the graduates of its bachelor’s and master’s programs from the summer semester. A total of 77 students successfully completed their studies, and 59 of them attended the ceremony in person.
The evening was opened by Dean of Studies Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christiane Fülscher, who warmly welcomed the graduates and their guests. Rector Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel also extended personal congratulations to the graduates and, in her speech, recognized their successful completion of their studies. A special moment of the evening was the joint farewell speech by graduates Selma Steinmann and Tom Gerdemann, who, together with lecturers Prof. Binke Lenhardt, Anton Bombach, and Eva Paar, looked back on their time as students from a personal perspective, adding a special touch to the official program.
The highlight of the ceremony was the subsequent diploma presentation, which was moderated by Prof. Ralf Dietz. The graduates received their diplomas and were honored for their achievements and successful completion of their studies.
Once again this year, outstanding academic achievements were recognized with the “wettbewerbe aktuell” scholarship. Graduates Nicole Leibelt, Hajer Rachi, and Patrick Raab received the award for their exceptional accomplishments. The prize includes a one-year subscription to the journal of the same name.
Following the official ceremony, the traditional exhibition offered an opportunity to explore the diverse final projects from the bachelor’s and master’s programs. The exhibition spanned the entire building and provided insights into the graduates’ various design approaches, research questions, and ideas. In addition, the Master’s graduates presented their final projects in short talks in the lecture hall, providing a deeper insight into their projects.
In a relaxed atmosphere, graduates, lecturers, families, and guests took the opportunity to engage in conversation, reflect on their time together as students, and celebrate their achievements well into the late evening hours.
Special thanks go to the Architecture Student Council, which supported the organization and execution of the celebration with great dedication and thus contributed significantly to the success of the evening.
The Faculty of Architecture extends its warmest congratulations to all graduates on successfully completing their studies and wishes them all the best for their future professional and personal journeys!
