Review of the 14th International Week (November 14-18, 2022)

The International Week 2022 took place from November 14 to 18, 2022 in a hybrid form with a mix of face-to-face and online events. Here you can find a short summary of the program.

In the two previous years, the International Week was held digitally under the motto "online instead of canceled" due to coronavirus. In November 2022, the event week was held with a hybrid concept as a mix of face-to-face and online events. The almost 30 events organized by the individual faculties, international projects and the International Office included a diverse mix of information events on the topic of studying abroad, taster courses, exhibitions and an international "marketplace of opportunities" in the kostBar.

Here, students were able to experience the international diversity of the university at country stands and in discussions with returnees about their experiences abroad. At the stands of the (specialist) departments, the International Office and external exhibitors, they received information about studying abroad and an overview of the wide range of international activities.

In addition, specialist lectures by international guest lecturers offered an exciting look beyond the horizon: a total of 19 speakers from twelve countries around the world brought international and intercultural topics to life in their lectures - directly on site at Fachhochschule Dortmund or online from Australia, Japan, China and Mongolia, among others. Participation was also explicitly open to all other interested parties outside the main target group of students.

The feedback from the participating (specialist) areas on the hybrid format was consistently positive. By being open to all interested parties, the digital events facilitated an interdisciplinary exchange and offered a variety of international points of contact.
