About the teachingarea

Structural engineering is a fundamental module in architectural training. The aim is to enable students to analyze, design and construct load-bearing structures. The task of the load-bearing structure is to absorb and transfer all loads acting on a building to the subsoil, in short spanning, supporting, bracing and foundation, while maintaining serviceability and load-bearing capacity. The aim of the structural analysis module is to find answers to the following questions:

What supporting structures are there?
What loads act on the structure?
How are these loads transferred within the structure?
What internal stresses result from this?
How does the structure deform under load?
What dimensions must the individual structural components have?
How is the structure braced?
