The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic grounding in the technical construction of buildings and to pass on to them the relevant design and planning strategies for climate-friendly and energy-efficient construction.

The field of Integral Building Technology and Climate-Friendly Construction is fully represented in teaching and research. The task of the department is to teach students the fundamentals of the technical development of buildings and to pass on the relevant design and planning strategies for climate-friendly and energy-efficient construction. The focus of climate-friendly construction is on optimum quality of stay with minimal energy consumption and minimal impact on the environment. Influencing factors are local conditions (climate | infrastructure | city | neighborhood), technical equipment, form and materiality of the buildings. Daylight and artificial light planning are intrinsic to the topic.

In accordance with the sustainability goals of the European Union (EU climate protection goals 2050), this must be communicated in teaching and further developed in research.
