Production office for film & sound

The Production Office offers students the opportunity to obtain general information on the production of audiovisual productions at Fachhochschule Dortmund as well as assistance in the concrete implementation of their projects. The production office offers a point of contact for all phases of project realization for seminar and final film productions of the Film&Sound study programs. Individual advice can relate to costing and financing, shoot planning and organization as well as exploitation through festival strategies. As an interface between the university administration, teaching staff, students, the film workshop and other contacts, the production processes of all productions are coordinated on site.

In addition, students have the option of temporarily using licenses for supporting production software and borrowing radio equipment, crockery and set catering accessories, as well as production vehicles from an external rental company. The Production Office develops sustainability initiatives for green producing and organizes cross-course events with the aim of promoting networking among all design students.

The Production Office also offers access to a large media archive with over 20,000 video films. Whether for a project, presentation, lecture or thesis: here you can find inspiration and information in the form of moving images and sound. Within the archive, you can find feature films, documentaries, television reports and reports on specific people and topics. From "Aronofsky" to "Zhang", there are films by directors that are sometimes impossible to get hold of these days.
