Laboratory for high voltage technology and EMC (HT)

Profile

Measurements, calculations and simulations for equipment are carried out in the laboratory for high-voltage technology and EMC. This includes electrical diagnostics, determining the switching capacity of circuit breakers and measuring dielectric strength for various voltage forms.

In the Bachelor's degree course in Electrical Engineering, the practical courses in high-voltage technology and insulation coordination take place in the high-voltage laboratory.

Equipment

  • Lightning impulse generator for sum voltages up to 500 kV
  • DC voltage test system up to 400 kV
  • Single-phase test transformer for voltages up to 400 kV
  • Test field for partial discharge measurements
  • EMC measuring cabin
  • Test equipment for simulating interference pulses
  • Digital pulse evaluation system
  • Measuring devices for the most important EMC tests
