University election meeting

The members of the Senate and the University Council form the University Electoral Assembly. The task of this body is to elect and dismiss the members of the Rectorate.

Terms of office of the positions elected by the university electoral assembly

  • The term of office of the Chancellor is 10 years (§5 para. 2 GO).
  • The first term of office of the Rector is 6 years, further terms of office 4 years (§17 para. 5 HG).
  • The term of office of the non-full-time Vice-Rectors ends at the latest with the term of office of the Rector.
  • The incumbent Rector and the Vice-Rectors at Fachhochschule Dortmund were last elected in 2019.
  • On September 7, 2022, the University Assembly elected a new(Opens in a new tab)  Rector. She will take office on July 1, 2023.
  • On February 1, 2023, the University Election Assembly decided on the team of Vice Re(Opens in a new tab)  ctors.
