Overall system integration

Team description

The Complete System Integration team is responsible for maintaining an overview of the entire vehicle and merging all CAD files.

Work packages

The team's tasks include merging the CAD files from all teams into a single overall CAD model. Sufficient communication is necessary to avoid geometric overlaps in the model. Regular meetings with the respective teams help to identify problems in advance and find a solution together with fellow students.
Other tasks include checking existing hard points. These are connection points of various components or assemblies to the chassis, which may not be changed without consultation. An Excel table with the associated x, y and z coordinates is used to document these connection points.
The team also thinks about the overall function of the vehicle and considers in advance how large components, for which no interfering edge models exist yet, can be integrated into the overall vehicle.

Most recently, the interface for the design of the body was added. We provide drawing templates and drawings of the entire vehicle.

What has been achieved so far?

All CAD files that we have received from the teams so far were integrated into the overall model after consultation. For components that had not yet been designed in CAD, partial interfering edge models were created and integrated into the overall vehicle. Geometric overlaps were avoided by communicating and repositioning various components. In addition, an Excel table was created for the hardpoints and the currently installed components were entered in a traceable manner. Furthermore, drawing templates and drawings of the entire vehicle were provided for the body designers.
