Content
Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world, revolutionizing industry and is a key component of digital transformation. Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) aims to create new and coherent texts, images, videos or other forms of data from the information available to it. Large Language Models (LLMs) in particular are a well-recognized tool. Generative AI models are based on neural networks which recognize patterns and structures in existing data. It still needs to be explored in specific real-world applications how GenAI models should be implemented and whether and how the generated content can help solve problems.
As part of the BIP, the participants work on real-world problems and tasks motivated by companies and social institutions. During an initial online phase and at the beginning of the BIP, participants are introduced to area-specific knowledge and skills through specialist lectures combined with interactive training sessions before working on the projects.
Target Group and Learning Outcomes
The main target group are students in bachelor's degree programs with a strong focus on IT topics. By combining academic knowledge and practical experience, it promotes the development of innovative, entrepreneurial thinking and the professional and international networking of participants. Master's students are also welcome.
In addition to the content-related topics, the seminar teaches fundamental skills for project-related work, presentation techniques, and working in an international cross-functional team.
Duration
The BIP is seperated into two parts
- Virtual Phase (02.03.2026-20.03.2026)
- Formation of student teams
- Initial acquisition of basic knowledge
- On-site Phase (23.03.2026-27.03.2026) at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts
- Acquisition of in-depth knowledge
- Project work in student team
A crucial part of this seminar is collaborating within an international group.
